One correction: I am the assistant project manager and not the project
manager for this great project. The project for this project is Mr.
Hiroshi Kawamura.

Thanks

Subject: [dfaresource] Focal Point in Sri Lanka

Dear All,
As some of you are already aware, a Focal Point Training for production
of DAISY Digital Talking Books was held recently in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The training was held from 23 to 28 August 2004. A total of 14 trainees
participated in the training. They represented different organization
working for the welfare of Visually impaired persons in Sri Lanka. Seven
of them were visually impaired.

Miki Azuma from Japan, Prashant Ranjan Verma and Santosh Khare from
India were the trainers. Mr. Dipendra Manocha Manager of the DFA Project
arranged and co-ordinated the event.

A forum called DAISY LANKA has been created and it will be the resource
center for Sri Lanka. Mr. Anthony Bernard is the President of DAISY
LANKA.

We can now hope to see DAISY Books coming out of SL as well.

Regards,

Prashant
