If you live in the US then, save yourself some money and get a laptop from Jim
Roseberry over at Studiocat:

And tell Jim I sent you! If you don't live in the US then, tell me where you
live and we shall see what we can come up with.

Subject: [ddots-l] workstation recomendations
Hi all. I'm wantig to buy a laptop and set up an audio workstation with it.
Dancintdots gave me a 1400 dollar price on the laptop. I also have to upgrade
the caketalking and cakewalk software programs as well as buy a controler as I
don't have a keyboard with enough sounds. . What do you guys recommend. Is
there an advantage in going with a mac?
Any suggestions would be appriciated.
Thanks
Tim Kilgore
