Therre are adjustments you can make in the user preferences. Tye control U
and listen to your options.

Hi List,
When I hit ctrl and space bar to pause either recording or playback, jaws
gives me a lot of info, but, I don't really want that info at that moment.
How can I keep jaws quiet at this point, and if I want this info, is there a
hot key to tell me this stuff.
