Sonar 5.2--I find it easiest to just keep the synth rack view open, and tab to it and press p on RealGuitar, then close RG when I'm done.
At the moment, I'm in the process of compiling a listing of all the RG parameter values(cc values for the parameter cc#'s). Its tedious, but this allows for controlling RG from within a midi sequence instead of being reliant on the Graphic interface. It also allows for programming the synth during playback(embedding effects, performance mode switching etc). Its going to be a valueable piece of documentation when I'm done. This is my first experience with any softsynth(asides from tts-1 & roland VSC which don't really count I guess), and its my good luck that its fully accessible through these parameters and jaws facilities. What a piece of work this RG is.

Phil, You're right. You have to reminimize the window each and every time it comes up. The solution, to the extent that there is one, is to make sure that there are only two windows open, RG and the track view. If you close RG, you can always reopen it from the synth rack when you need it and close it again when you're done. K. BTW, are you using Sonar 5 or 6? -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Phil Halton Sent: Monday, January 15, 2007 12:27 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: must plugin windows always be on top? Not so good Kevin, I can minimize the RG window, but when I control tab around to the other views, as soon as I bring up the RG plugin, it stays on top from there on out until I minimize it or close it. In its system menu, there are options for "disable floating" and "enable tabbing". I already stepped in it with the "enable tabbing" option(won't do that again), but the disable floating? Any ideas what that'll do? I'm afraid to try it since the last time I messed with sonars view layouts. Also, the plugin window comes up silent on my system--that's how I know I'm on it--it doesn't announce like the other views. Is it that way on your computer?----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin L. If that's the Real Guitar properties window, you should be returned to the synth rack view. Press F6 to reestablish focus in that view and do the same trick to return you to the track view. If you have closed the synth rack prior to closing the properties window using the method I described, you should be returned directly to the track view from the Real Guitar properties window. Currently, I have to close out the RealGuitar softsynth interface before I can use sonar's track, Event list, or other sonar views. Otherwise, the RG interface stays on top and obscures the other views. Can this be changed through any sonar settings? ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
