Getting it from the Adobe site. It always asks if I want to install the Yahoo toolbar, to which I say no. Than I let the ActiveX control do it's thing, I don't get any kind of completion message. But it does appear in the ad or remove list. In fact both the Shockwave and Flash player are there.
This almost makes me think that some .dll or ocx file isn't being properly registered.
Following the great instructions that Phil gave the other day, I wonder what the file name for either the flash or shockwave player would be so I can register it.
In a perfect world, it would be something like flashplayer.dll and ShockWavePlayer.dll respectively.

Yea but when you install it, and you get the internet explorer prompt, does
it say adobe flash player 9, and adobe under compnay? Usually I just click
install, no license agreement, and no offer for any toolbars! Where are you
getting it from?

Then how do you know that it is installed?
It appears in my ad or remove, so from that I assume that it's installed.
But when I go to any place that has flash I'm told that I need to install
the flash player.
I've clicked on the activeX control, I've let it do it's thing at least
that's what I think anyway. I've accepted license agreement, tried
uninstalling and re-installing, check firewall settings and am running out
of ideas.

About the only thing I haven't done, is to install the yahoo toolbar. It's
free and it's suppose to be voluntary. And I haven't volunteered yet.

Adobe bought macromedia, so the latest version, 9, is adobe flash player.
It
pops up on the info bar, then you just press install active x, click
install
when interet explorer prompts, then it refreshes the page.

I've tried to install the flash player numerous times but to no joy.
I've gone as far as accepting the license agreement, saying yes to the
activX control, turning off the popup blocker in IE. But when I go to try
to

watch a video or listen to audio on websites that run Flash, I'm always
told

that I must download the flash player.
Pleas help.

There are some great tutorials out there having to do with music, music
production, a lot of distance learning courses from various schools that
use

and need the flash player. I'd like to watch them. How do I do that?
