Yes, the changing on the trackproperties is only available in the DXI version. 
If you have installed it.

  I have hypersonic as well and using the trackproperties
   doesn't work for me for it, it just sticks on one sound.

    With some soft synths, like hypersonic, you can access the banks and 
patches in the track property dialogue box as you would with an external synth 
that has ins def files. I always try that with any new softsynth i acquire.

      Can soft synths have instrument definition lists?

      if they can, are there any available for things like the Z3Ta etc.

      Scrolling down a list of voices in the synth rack is a real pain in the 
      neck.
