By default, sonar exports .wav files as 32 bit. Make sure you change it to 16 or 24 in the global options/audio dialog.

Subject: [ddots-l] external encoder problem in sonar

as a follow up to my earlier post, I was able to track down an error warning message from Lame encoder that said" corrupt or unsupported wave format, assuming raw PCM wave input". This message appears when trying to encode anything saved in riff wave format from sonar 5. All MP3's I have created since upgrading to sonar 5.2 from sonar 4 are nothing but hiss--evidently the Lame warning message points to the problem, but what is sonar 5 doing differently from sonar 4? I checked all settings in Audio Options in both sonar 5 and 4, and they are identical.

Any help out there?
