Oops! Correction to my sentence in my original post. Should say:

I have used the 1010 LT but not the PCI 1010. But this description says
there are 8 balanced inputs so connecting an XLR mic sounds like no problem.

Regards,
Bill

Hi,

The big difference between the 1010 LT and the 1010 is that you get a
break-out box with the 1010 that has all the connectors housed in it whereas
the LT has a bunch of leads coming out the back of the PCI card. The box is
connected to the PCI card with a cable. Some people say that having the
components in the rack-mountable breakout box makes the card a bit quieter.
It may be the kind of thing that is possible to measure with instruments but
most mere mortals cannot notice with our ears.

See our page at HYPERLINK
"http://www.dancingdots.com/prodesc/soundcards.htm"http://www.dancingdots.co
m/prodesc/soundcards.htm for a description of the Delta 1010 rack version
and also the 1010 LT.

Here's what it says about the rack unit:

PCI 8x8 Balanced/Unbalanced Analog I/O, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O

I have used the 1010 LT but not the PCI 1010. But this description says
there are 8 blanked inputs so connecting an XLR mic sounds like no problem.

Bill

When I was looking in to both cards, I was told by various people and read
various places that the lt has 2 xlr inputs, and the rack mount does not; I
can verrify that the lt has 2 xlr, I'm not sure about the rack mountable
one; I honestly went with the lt because of pricing and budget, and as long
as you know what you are doing, the cable with all the connectors on it is
not a problem at all...haven't had any problems with mine and had it for
almost a year now...

Delta 1010LT?

Many thanks

Mark
