Mark, if you want an excellent control surface that happens to have a sound
card built into it then, go for the Tascam FW1884. The FW1884 has 9 motorised
faders and is totally accessible. I have a document describing how to access
it over on my website:
www.philmuir.com/
Once there, from the main site, choose the "accessibility training page. You
will find the link to the document there. Finally, if you wish to purchase an
FW1884 then, the cheapest supplier in the UK is:

Hi
What would you say is the best and most accessible control surface on the
market that works great with Sonar?
I'm probably looking to spend less than £1000 at the moment.
Thanks, Mark
