sounds just like my IBM t-30 before it got sent to IBM's testing facility where it was put in the "what not to do when you make computers" room. I think you need a new computer as this is just only going to get worse. For whatever reason, your processor chip is getting over heated and slowing down. It could be anything from a heat sink going down, to a clogged fan, to the chip going bad. Does it take less time for the system to slow down and fail of there is NOT a load on it?? hth Jeff
