Hello list, I'm posting this on this list since this is music related, and
the motif is a popular choice of workstation for its accessibility and ease
of use. The original post is below.

If you need more info please contact me at djx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Yamaha Motif XF 8 Pro Keyboard/workstation

I'm selling this Yamaha Motif XF8 workstation, in excellent shape and
condition, no scratches or anything. The unit still has a year of coverage
with Guitar Center's Pro coverage. We bought the unit 2 years ago, it has
been sitting in a church building, used once or twice a week, covered and
protected when not in use. It will come in its original box with all
documentation and manuals, software etc.

There are also accessories included with the workstation: a new 512MB flash
Board (FL512m) for saving samples.

Various voices (sound libraries) that we own, including Chick Corea's Mark V
Piano, Complete Orchestra 2 and others. USB flash drive for saving and
loading data, I can include free libraries and instruments from Yamaha at no
extra cost. Extra software from Yamaha/Steinberg: Prologue, YKB3, Cubase
recording software, BFD2 LE and additional content (also known as the
anniversary pack from Yamaha).

I'm asking $3000 for the entire package. The package would easily cost over
$4000 if purchased new. You can find used Motif XF8 for cheaper, but from
what I've researched they all have dents, scratches or are missing parts.
This unit has no dents or scratches, and it has all original materials,
including the box. It also comes with additional accessories.

If you would like to buy, have any questions, or would like further
information, please contact me at djx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Information about the Motif XF8 is below, including all specifications.

This is an 88 key workstation, with balanced hammer action keys (feels like
a real piano, with great response).

But more than just a keyboard, it's:

. 16 track linear sequencer: record all your parts, use punch in/out, blend
takes, or overwrite. Use the built-in effects for added realism and the pro
touch. Load and save MIDI files (SMF format 0), Export to your main
DAW/computer and more.

. 16 track loop-based sequencer: use the pattern mode to record loop-based
music, or to quickly lay down your composition in parts. Copy phrases, use
built-in ones, remix, or bring in arps and the arpeggiator with 7000+
professionally programmed arps. Once done, record the entire thing as a
linear song, add your vocals, spice it up with effects, and save the results
as a wave file.

. Sampler: sample your own instrument or turn anything you want into
sounds/voices on the Motif XF. Used it with the sequencer and record
yourself singing vocals, playing a real instrument into your song, or both!

. Performance tool: the Motif XF comes with 512 performances (and you can
add/load your own). These are special programs that use 4 instruments at
once, sometimes they are accompaniments, other times layers or splits,
sometimes it's all 3, giving you great ideas to start off your compositions,
or great for jamming and live performances.

. Effect processor: with the Motif's stereo inputs you can connect any audio
source such as a guitar, bass, other keyboard or module, microphone etc. and
use its plethora of onboard effects (400+ of them, including virtual modeled
Yamaha equipment). This Motif XF has been upgraded to the latest version of
the Motif XF operating system, so it includes the new effects that Yamaha
added, HD reverb, and the amp simulations and guitar effects.

. A great companion to any DAW (digital audio workstation) recording
software, as it can be used to remotely control many features of popular
DAWs such as Sonar, Logic, Cubase and Digital Performer. The remote feature
also lets you use the Motif XF to control synths and effects.

One of the highlights of the XF generation of motif is the use of flash
memory to store sounds. No more having to reload data when you turn on the
power to the machine; load the data to 1 of the flash boards and turn off
the power with piece of mind, knowing that it will all be there and ready to
go when you turn it on again! The motif can use up to 2 flash boards, a
maximum of 2GB of memory. The boards are sold in 512MB and 1024MB (1GB)
models. Normally flash boards are sold separately, and you have to buy 1
before enjoying new additional sounds; however if you buy this Motif you'll
be getting a 512MB board included with your purchase!

When it comes to connectivity, the Motif XF8 has you covered: use USB flash
drives to load and save data, even use a USB computer keyboard to enter file
names and other information. Connect the Motif to your PC or Mac via USB or
MIDI, or get the optional FW16E expansion card and use firewire for both
audio and MIDI. Use the built-in network port to connect to networks for
loading data; or get the adapter and use the Motif with WIFI!

You can also connect this Motif XF8 to an iPhone or iPad and use Yamaha's
iOS applications to record and edit keyboard parameters directly from your
device.
