Hi all! With all of the chat on the various lists, I thought it would be interesting to post, which drums you get with each of the Toontrack EZ Drummer, and Superior Drummer packages. The list starts off with the free EZ Drummer lite. I have posted aditional Superior Drummer info at the bottom of the list. BTW, if any of you don't currently own any ToonTrack products and you would like to get a taste of what the drums sound like then, let me know. If you purchase the .HSC sets for EZ Drummer then, I can on request, supply you with a free licence for EZ Drummer lite. This licence cannot be used for commercial purpose E.G., you can't make a CD and sell it with this licence. You can then upgrade that at a future date for use in EZ Drummer. there's a link in the ReadMe.rtf that ships in the TT106L_EZdrummer_Lite_WIN Package that you can download from the: http://www.toontrack.com/ Website, once you have set-up an account with them. Or, you could go out and purchase Superior Drummer then, upgrade to the Superior Drummer HSC sets and just pay the difference. The sets for EZ Drummer, also work in the full EZ Drummer package. Personally, I would save up the cash and upgrade to Superior Drummer 2, as you can then use the bounce Window, in order to record all of the microphones out to individual wave files at 24 or, 16 bit. Note: the bounce Window, is fully accessible with the .HSC sets. You could then import them to other DAWS, such as Pro Tools. This would allow you to use the drums in PT, even though the interface, isn't accessible for us on a MAC. Pricing The set for EZ Drummer costs £20.00 [around $30.866] and the bundle which, includes all sets for Superior Drummer 2 and EZ Drummer, costs £50.00 [around $77.16]. You can if you wish, just purchase the set for EZ Drummer then, upgrade to the bundle at a later date. The good news is that upgrading to the bundle at a later date, won't cost you any more. Meaning that, if you purchase the EZ Drummer set, and you want to upgrade then, you just pay the difference which is £30.00. Note: with Superior Drummer, you can choose different bass drum beaters, whether the drums are played with sticks, mallets, brushes or, hotrods etc. You can also use X Drums. This feature allows you to pick and choose separate kicks, toms, snares etc from separate libraries and combine them. Obviously though, you would have to have those libraries installed in order to do this. The X Drums feature is accessible with the .HSC sets. With Superior Drummer 2, you get a lot of aditional microphones and 23 outputs which, are accessible with the .HsC set that will be out before Christmas. Where as, EZ Drummer, only has 8 outputs. Also, some packages such as any of the SDX'S such as The Metal Foundrey, can only be used in Superior Drummer 2. Where as every package that you purchase for EZDrummer, can be used in Suiperior Drummer 2. The following should give you an idea of some of the microphone routing that you get with Superior Drummer and aditional packages that you can purchase for it: Avatar: 18 Allaire: 19 HitFactory: 16 Metal Foundry: 21 Music City: 12 EZX: variable Finally, remember that when you purchase Superior Drummer, that you get the Avatar library which, includes all of the drums and cymbals, listed above under the Superior Drummer section.
