No, the DAW isn't on-line. It's definitely temermental because the last two shut downs were successful with u and then alt u. Maybe that's the key, but I thought I had already tried that combination. It happened to me yesterday, where it took about 3 minutes before it shut down. During that time I had to use the JAWS cursor to read what was on the screen. Freedome Ssci said this was not a JAWS related issue. When I shut the system down, it restarts. This is getting to be very aggravating because it happens 50% of the time and has been happening for about a year. Sometimes I have to hold in the ON button to turn the system off. I have done all of the following, but neither are consistent. 1. Start, arrow to Shut down, Enter, and then arrow to Shutdown and Enter. 2. Start, u, and then u. 3. Start, alt u, and then alt u. I know this is not like the usual posts on the list, but I was going to try it before contacting Micro-Soft. Any ideas or other ways? Oh, I have XP Pro.
