[ddots-l] Sample rate

hi all:
i have sonar 7 with m audio fw1814,
but i have a problem concerning sampling rate.
if i increase my sample rate over 44000, i got a message that my sound
card can't support more than 44000, and it has been reset to 44000, why is
this?
i changed my windows at all, but the same
any help well be highly abbreciated.
