I were about to buy a new mike a month ago. Then I managed to borrow a Rode nt1a and an AKG Perception 400 over a weekend from a music store over the weekend. The NT1a had a lot of trebble. Like if someone boosted the trebble on the eq quite a bit. So I think that affected the overall dynamics when we did some vocal takes with it. SOunded really nice and crispy on steelstring acoustic guitar though. And then the output from the mike was extremely loud compaired to other mikes. The input level had to be on the lowest possible to avoid distortion. I didn't like it so much. Maybe nt2a is better. I liked the AKG Perception though. Great one for vocals and works quite well for acousttic guitar and some allround stuff. _____ Från: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] För Steve Wicketts Skickat: den 8 maj 2010 15:04 Till: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Ämne: [ddots-l] Re: Rode microphones Hi Dave, Thanks for the info about Rode microphones, and thanks for mentioning Studio Project microphones. Which of the Studio project microphones do you have? I'm using a Shure Beta 87A for my live Shows, it suits my voice well, I just think I need something a little more studio dedicated for recording. Use mine on acoustic guitar, precussion, and even used it on guitar amp. The NT1A works very well too but NT2A has choice of different paterns which can be handy. To be honest, think you may want to check out the Studio Project microphones as well. Used my NT2A exclusively til I bought one of theirs. Have had many different people use it and all have been amazed and had to go out and buy one of their own. You can't go wrong with either one but since I got the Studio Project mic have pretty much just stuck with it and the NT2A has been in its case for a while. I'd never heard of them until I read about them on this forum, I've since taken a look at the reviews about Rode on the net, I'm very impressed with what I read. I just wondered, which one of the rode studio microphones would you recommend as the best one for lead vocals and voice-over recordings?
