Hi Neville!
Must blind people in Denmark are at the moment getting Linovo lap tops. My
model i think is a 5500 model and are only used for communication at work.
IT does not have the numeric block but a nice easy six block in top as known
on desk tops with the jaws key at the insert key as annabelle mentioned.
Only thing i had a bit of a problem getting used to is that IBM now places
the help key where the ctrl key normally are located down in the left
corner. The keys has a good response and a sice where men has good control
when writing fast. De different areas on the keyboard is also easy to find
as there is clear gabs to part the sections. I dont know if the european key
lay out are like in the US but check it out if possible. I use a 15 inch
screen so it does not take up to much space. It is possible to get a full
keyboard but as other tolled the computer are much bigger. Have a nice trip.

I have not bought the laptop yet. I'm either buying it today or sometime
this week. Can someone recommend which brand of laptop to get and keyboard
layout? I'm not using it for my work in sonar, but I may install SF on it.

It depends of wich model of laptop you've got. The keyboard layout is not
the same from model to model.
Sorry but I'm not good at laptops, so I can't help you more than that, but
I'm sure someone else on this list know the specific keystroke to your
laptop keyboard.
