The Digi Translator is a plug-in used by the Pro Tools system to open OMF
files. You wouldn't need the plug-in, the PT user would use it to open your
files on a PT system and save them as native Pro Tools session files.

FYI, all Pro Tools systems will import WAV files as long as they're true
24-bit rather than the pseudo 32-bit files. Also, OMF is not a problem since
the Digi Translator can be rented for an iLok key for a nominal fee. Projects
can be translated during that 24 hour rental period .

Hi, how can I export into aiff-files? I don't find it in sonar's file
type and export.

      Thanks Stefan

No, no, don't export as an OMF file. You are making the assumption that
the ProTools user has the Digi Translator. If they do, then you can export to
OMF otherwise don't bother.
You can export all tracks to Waves at once which will name the tracks
and they should be able to import directly into ProTools. If you have an
extremely lazy ProTools to insure full compatibility, export as aiff files. I
had a ProTools user that could not import waves for some reason.

          Hey Stefan!

In order to export Sonar project files so they can be read by Pro
Tools, you need to export/save them as .OMF files.

Unfortunately, this setting is one of the file type option check
boxes, when you first install Sonar.

I don't know if its at all possible to re-instate this option after
installing, but I'm sure someone else on the list should know, failing that,
I'd contact either Cakewalk or Dancing Dots...
Or, as a last resort, reinstall Sonar

Hi, does anyone have an idea how to export sonar projects so that
pro tools users can open it with out any problems? In Germany, you have the
problem, that cubase and pro tools are more common than Sonar.

            Thanks for your answers.

            Stefan
