You know, this seems like it may be fun. Guess I'll have to look up the band and hear there sound.

The only question I have is, is the achievement supposed to be that you completely change the tune? Think of the old days and the dance mixes. Or is the objective to just get a killer sounding track?

Who knows, I may get in on this. Your right Chris, it would be fun to compare notes.

The following is from Sound on Sound.

Whether you enter or not, it might be fun to attempt mixing this and listening to each other's results. That's a great way to learn collaboratively!

Mix Rescue competition

Quad 9L Active monitors to be won!

London band Flags have announced that they are holding a remix competition for their song '54' the very song featured in this month's Mix Rescue column! All the original multitracks are available for download from the Mix Rescue audio files page (<http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar11/articles/mixrescuemedia.htm>www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar11/articles/mixrescuemedia.htm), and completed remixes can be submitted via the band's web site. The star prize, kindly donated by online retailer SpeakerPoint (<http://www.speakerpoint.co.uk>www.speakerpoint.co.uk<http://www.soundonsound.com//newspix/image/large-sosmr09rescuedthismonth.jpg>), will be a pair of Quad 9L Active speakers, normally retailing at £499. The lucky winner's remix will also be featured on the 54 EP that Flags are going to be promoting at their 2011 shows, and the winner will also receive a complementary pair of tickets to one of the band's gigs.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 29th April and all remixes will be judged by the band, in consultation with selected SOS contributors. For full details, plus terms and conditions, head over to the band's web site, below.
