Darren, I'd definitely appreciate a copy. Thanks in advance. Best wishes. I'm working on updates to the Omnisphere sets, but am in the middle of a house move right now so haven't got time to do much for a while. I can currently fully utilize the browser interface, the mixer for multi channel use and the arpeggiator which includes a midi file import function so you can create your own arpeggiator patterns. On my system it works flawlessly so if anyone wants a copy, let me know. You must be familiar with Omnisphere to some extent as I simply don't have the time to provide tech support. Hell, I had to work it out myself so it can be done. Unless there have been extremely recent developments, you can't edit anything. That's one big reason why Dimension Pro is still better. You might load a synth bass preset, and not like it right away, but you can adjust the polyphony so that it is a mono glide style bass instead of poly, you can change the filter type and cut off+resonance to adjust the tambor, you can change the effects that Dim Pro puts on it, use parametric EQ to stress or reduce particular harmonics, Maybe load a second bass sound in to another one of the 4 elements to make a stack, then save your customized version as a new preset. As nice as Omnisphere sounds, you can only scroll through hundreds of presets until you find one that you like. With Dimension Pro, the presets are starting points that you edit to your taste. Yes; it is expensive. There are lots of cheap synths that sound terrible, though, and a quality keyboard workstation like a Motif costs thousands of dollars. $400 isn't much for the quality sounds, but, again, you can't edit them, so that limits the usefulness. Omnisphere is just another softsynth plug in. You use it in Sonar just like Dimension Pro, Rapture, Pentagon, TTS-1, etc. Bryan On Jul 6, 2011, at 6:00 PM, <ivanlopez@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hello Brian, > > I found the following Omnisphere 1.5 demo and I liked it: > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp0dBNecYrA > > However, what I did not like was the price over 400$ > > Those who have not seen this softsynth, it is a must, particularly if > you like futuristic sounds > > Brian, how accesible is Omnisphere with the HSC set? > 50%? 60%? 80%? > Would you use Omnisphere as a standalone softsynth? or would you use > Sonar as the host program for Omnisphere? > > Thanks, > Ivan > > >> -------- Original Message -------- >> Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Softsynth question >> From: Bryan Smart <bryansmart@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Date: Wed, July 06, 2011 12:36 pm >> To: "ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> >> >> Omnisphere from Spectrasonics, perhaps.
