Yes it does and I have used a Joystick, but I haven't been able to make the
Joystick pan each track separately. It seems to fix itself to the first
surround bus and I found it hard to move.
The other problem that I have encountered in Sonar is some crackling when
panning between the speakers. This seems to occur with pure sounds like sign
tones, but I have heard it with other kinds of wave files. Please tell me if
this occurs with you, I hope it doesn't because this will mean that its my
system at fault, and not a Bug in the sonar Audio engine.

  Hey David!
That's what I also do. I use my Yamaha 02R console as a control surface and
assign the pan parameters to faders.
I have read in the sonar help that it supports the Microsoft Joystick for
surround panning.
I will purchase one shortly and see how it goes!

I wouldn't think that many people would use the surround pan,but I'm
surprised it hasn't been implemented in Sonar5. There are other ways to
control the surround pan. I do it with a midi controller.

          Hey David!
That's exactly how I do it with J Sonar but at least on my system. the
surround panner is not accessible with the CT 5 scripts.
Again, my simple question is whether the CT 5 scripts are supposed to
have the surround panner accessible?

Hi, the J-sonar scripts have made the sonar6 surround pan accessible.
If your in any of the sonar's and I imagine its the same with Sonar5
you just:
1 cursor to the surround pan field,
2 Press enter to open the surround window,
3 use your up and down arrows to move between the parameters.
4 in ct there are a number of ways to move the parameter sliders, but
in J-sonar, you can do this with the bracket keys, or by typing the appropriate
number.
I hope this helps a little.

          Hey David!
          Thanks for the info!
I'm just wondering why I haven't heard from Dancing Dots on this
matter?
For the time being, I use J Sonar to mix in surround so it's not a
real big deal but I still would like to know from them if CT 5 can do this and
if CT 6 will have this feature.

I know that surround pan was implemented in Sonar 4 with the CT
              scripts. I don't know about Sonar5. ----- Original Message -----

              Hello everyone.
Is the surround panning implemented in CT 5.2 and if so how does
it work?
I have found no answers in the CT documentation on this.
If it is not implemented, is it being considered for CT 6?
