I have a Roland FP-3 and there are no instrument definition files for it. However I can work with it just fine by using a default GM IDF. Not all the 128 sounds are possible on the Roland, but the 41 built-in instruments, and about 30 others do play back from Sonar, and are mapped correctly. I think the problem is more basic than instrument definition files. Have you gone to your MIDI devices dialog and located your keyboard there? If it's not there, then I suspect that you need to see if any drivers are required for the USB to work as MIDI. Aside from that, you need to go to the options menu, (alt key and o,) then hit enter on midi devices. Make sure the appropriate inputs and outputs are checked in the fields. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lori Duncan To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 03, 2010 8:15 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Keyboard finding Hi It's a Roland FP4 Middie controler. Is it a full synth, a piano, a midi controler? ----- Original Message ----- From: Lori Duncan To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 03, 2010 7:53 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Keyboard finding Hi everyone, I have been looking in the Cake-talking tutorial but can't find where to configer my keyboard. When I open a file and go to sellect input device my Roland keyboard isn't showing even though it's plugged in by USB. Can anyone tell me how to get it working? Many thanks from Lori.
