Always been able to do that here. Mind you, have version 4 of Final Plugso, would need to check the new version 5 and see what's going on with this.Regards, Phil Muir Accessibility Training Telephone: US (615) 713-2021 UK +44-1747-821-794 Mobile: UK +44-7968-136-246 E-mail: info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx URL: http://www.accessibilitytraining.co.uk/ -----Original Message-----From: jsonar-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jsonar-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Chris Smart Sent: 24 December 2010 19:39 To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: jsonar@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Jsonar] WaveArts Registration Issue Mike and others, See? Contacting companies does sometimes bring results! I wrote Wave Arts a nice letter, and got a reply back from someone named Bill within the hour. ere is what he said, with some editing by me. It sounds like he's willing to add a shortcut keystroke to start the registration process. From Bill: I can understand your frustration. You are correct that the plug-in interface is entirely bitmapped. I have reluctantly accepted that the only way to sell audio plug-ins is to make them look fabulous, and that means fully customized bitmapped interfaces. Because the interface is bitmappedyour screen reading software will not be able to find the Tools button whichopens the menu of options needed to register the plug-in. This menu isimplemented using standard Windows objects, so if you happen to click on itand open the menu the software should be able to read the menu and thedialogs that are opened from the menu. Unfortunately there is not a keyboardcommand to open these options, but there should be. We may be able to register the plugs through the registry if you arecomfortable using regedit. The machine ID is unique to Wave Arts, it is a 5 digit decimal number derived from the MAC address of your ethernet hardware. If you open a Windows command prompt and type "ipconfig/all" it will list the MAC address of your ethernet adapter under the heading "physicaladdress". The MAC address is displayed as six two-digit hexadecimal numbersseparated with dashes. From the MAC address we can compute the machine ID and prepare the registrymodifications needed to register the plugs. I think there is a way toautomate this, for example a file to click on that will insert entries intothe registry, but I'm not sure.Another possibility is that we fix our software to allow the register dialogto be opened via a keyboard command. That might actually be the bestsolution, but it will have to wait until next week. We will figure this out.Have a great holiday, Bill _______________________________________________ Find JSonar and Sonar FAQs, articles, guides and downloads at jsonar.org.
