Oh you definitely want to have knobs and faders. Many of the gpo instruments use the mod wheel for expression, because you are supposed to play parts with one hand making it less likely to play orchestral instruments as if you were playing a keyboard. Thank you for your reply. I have one more question. You said There is extensive midi control over expression and pan how would I do that with my keyboard or would I have to enter the midi control values in the event view? My controller doesn't have knobs and faders so would I need to have one with knobs and faders to experience the full potential of GPO? If it would take entering the midi control values in the event view, is there a list where I can get with the different midi controls and what they do? I have never needed to know the midi control numbers before. You should be fine after installing it. You will need to use your jaws cursor to click on the channel slots to load instruments into them, but that should be it. There is extensive midi control over expression, pan, and (if you want to use them), the included reverb, though I would advise that you use an external plug, the quality of the reverb isn't very good. But the instruments sound great and load quickly. Strongly considering buying it but since I don't have much sited assistance, I'm trying to eliminate as many surprises as possible. The Garritan gpo4 package is excellent. It is much more accessible than the previously kontak-basedd packages were. We can load instruments into the 16 slots, and there is extensive midi control over many of its parameters. The sounds are wonderful, especially when you consider the price comnpared to the east/west stuff. Hi all. Has anyone got their hands on GPO 4 yet? If so, how are things on both the sound and the accessibility side? Looking for a good orchestral package an while the east west stuff sounds fantastic, it's not useable as far as I can gather. Thanks, Cameron.
