Not using a laptop here however, the same rule applies. If you want to do any serious audio
recording then, you need to run the audio on a separate hard drive.

Subject: crackling when recording
Hello: some time ago I had a problem with Sonar 4.03 when recording audioonwhenmore than one track, I got crackling; however, I fixed this when realizing that my audio files were beeing created on the same drive as my operating system. Now I am looking for a good laptop to do live recording with Sonar, my question is, do those of you who use laptops for Sonar have two hard drives, and if not do you have problems with crackling and poppingrecording more than one track. Thanks in advance. John Fioravanti,
