Hi Tommy,

Once you are in event edit, make sure you have inserted an event by pressing alt I. Now make sure you are on the Note column or else it won't work, to find the note column, just move cursor left or right until you hear the word Note. once on the note column press enter and then hit the key on your music keyboard that triggers the pattern you require. You may hear Jaws say the name of the key played and you may hear the session drummer play the desired pattern. These patterns could be anything from 1 bar to 8 bars long, I don't use the patterns so can't remember. once you have hit the desired note on your music keyboard, press enter and go to the next desired bar.
At next desired bar press alt I.
This will insert the next event, you should still be on the note column so just press enter. now hit the next key on your music keyboard that triggers the pattern you require, press enter and go to the next desired bar.

You can move through the bars by either, pressing F5 three times and typing in the number of the bar you wish to go too and press enter. or just hit say the number 4 on your number row and you will move forward 4 bars.
Hit 4 twice and you move back 4 bars.

Hope this has helped.

Steve W

Hi Tommy,

There are eight variations of the drum pattern. these are located on the left-hand side of your keyboard, just below where the sampled drums hits finish.

We don't drag and drop, we use a different way.

1: using the top row numbers, select the bar you wish the first pattern to start on.
2: go to the event edit by pressing alt 4.
3: insert an event by pressing alt I,
4: arrow across the columns until you get to note, then press enter.
6: now go to your music keyboard and hit the note you want as your start pattern,
7: now press enter again and move to the next desired bar
8: once at your next desired bar, press insert followed by enter,
9: now go to your music keyboard and hit the note you want as your second pattern, then press enter.
You just keep repeating this process.

There is a demo of sonar 6.2 on the Dancing Dots web site. Gordon Kemt explains the process step by step.
Worth taking a listen too as he explains it very well.

Hi Tommy,

When you say, you have created Sessiondrummer 2, do you mean, you have loaded Session 2 and are using the preset patterns? Or have you created a pattern yourself using Session drummer 2 and wish to added to another song project?

OK!

On the channel/track with Guitar Rig 4 on it, press the tab key, this'll open the track inspector.
The first thing you should hear is, "module options".
Cursor up once and you'll hear, "Display".
Press enter, and you'll see a bunch of things in there, like, output, volume, pan, msr etc.

If any of these are checked, press enter, this'll uncheck them, but take you out of the display dialogue box.
So, press enter on "Display" once more, to re-enter it.
Uncheck 3 or 4 of these, but don't uncheck the one entitled, "FX".

You see, when these items are checked they occupy space in the track inspector, so you need to be able to give the inspector some quote breathing-space unquote, so you can easily navigate thru the FX parameters without having to wade thru a load of unnecessary stuff...

Now, cursor down to the dialogue box below "Display" entitled, "Module options". Enter on this, cursor down to FX sub-menu. Cursor once right, and, if "show assignable controls" is unchecked, press enter on it, and this will expose the FX parameters pertaining to whatever is in your FX bin.

Now, cursor down 'til you hear Guitar Rig 4. Below this will be 4 parameters exposed.
Note:

I also have Guitar Rig 4 installed so I know, that sometimes the 4 exposed parameters might have nothing to do with the preset chosen.
Don't worry 'bout that, as we'll just re-assign the controls...

Anyway, you can adjust the parameters by pressing the left & right bracket keys. These will either move the settings in percentages or by numbered increments. To access further parameters/controls, press the applications key, and cursor up once, and you'll hear re-assign controls sub-menu. Cursor right once, and there will be a long list of the remaining adjustable controls. To access these, just press enter on the one of your choice, and this will expose it in the list of 4 existing controls, replacing the one that was previously exposed.

The good thing about Guitar Rig 4, compared to previous versions, is that the parameters in the re-assignable sub-menu, only pertain to the preset chosen, so you won't have to wade thru literally hundreds of irrelevant parameters to find the relevant ones...

Good luck

Mike

Are you familiar with the inspector?

If not, let me know and I'll go thru it step by step...

By the way, which version of Sonar are you using, also, I'm not familiar
with J-Sonar, only CT...
