Hi, I am looking for a laptop and soundcard combo to be able to load sonar and

external one for Sonar. I need just one or two channels of reasonable audio
input. Any ideas with dell and what soundcards? The ideal would be a
soundcard that is small enough to fit into the laptop slot instead of a
firewire or USB one.

Phil replied: if your going to purchase a machine from Dell, make sure that
it's one of there business machines. Also, I would personally go for a Lenovo
machine over a Dell one. I know that Lenovo laptops aren't cheap however, they
definitely are reliable. Also, stay away from centrino processors and go for a
machine that has a core duo processor. As for the sound card recommendations,
we already chatted about that. The MOTU USB2 range of cards look good. I have
only sceen the MOTU 828 however, I would imagine that all of those cards would
be excellent.

sonar and jaws?

Phil replied: if you want good performance an reliability then, go for XP
home/Pro over Vista. I would still advise not going anywhere near Vista if you
can.

Subject: [ddots-l] question about sfz session

    Hello,

I installed Sonar 6 on my new computer and am bringing up projects from my
old computer. The project has a sfz session in it, but the file that I loaded
in the session had a different pathname on the old computer. How can I change
the file path in the session so that sfz finds that file on this new computer?

    Thanks.
