Taxi petition handover Hi Queensland Advocacy Incorporated supporter. Wonderful news. Transport Minister Scott Emerson announced last Thursday 11 October 2012 that the government will not proceed with the cap on the taxi subsidy. It's a relief for many people with disabilities. So that the Minister knows how strongly we feel about the issue (even though the Cap's been scrapped, the Minister's Panel is still set to deliberate on the Taxi Subsidy) QAI’s Byron Albury (President) will present the petition at Parliament House front gate, at 10.45 am this Thursday, 18 October 2012. If you haven’t signed, it’s at http://www.communityrun.org/petitions/mobility-for-people-with-disabilities-let-s-keep-the-taxi-subsidy And please join us at Parliament House if you have time on Thursday. Yours sincerely, Karlie Harris Receptionist, Queensland Advocacy Inc.
