Happy New Year, Dayton Oracle friends! In case you haven't heard, we have two events coming up in the area this month: A Jan. 24 meeting of the Greater Cincinnati Oracle Users Group: http://gcoug.org/ A business-intelligence themed Oracle Technology Day in Columbus (see forwarded email) Oddly enough, the OOUG hasn't announced a January meeting yet. I guess they're suffering some schedule slip. "Speaking of schedule slip", you say, "What about OUR meeting? When are OUR meetings going to start?" (blush) Um. Yes. Well. Sorry about that. Our first effort to schedule a speaker fell through. My intention is to get us set up so that we won't need to arrange full-fledged speakers for each meeting, though - where we can have a productive time together without relying on any one person to prepare an elaborate song-and-dance. For that, though, I want to figure out some infrastructure: how we can link up laptops and work cooperatively, hopefully share a database instance, etc. ... and I haven't been able to do those experiments yet. So our meetings are still "in the unspecified, but near (really!), future". Thanks, and we'll see you around... - Catherine ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "Coreen Walker" <cwalke2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <membership@xxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 01:16:38 -0500 Subject: Complimentary Oracle event - Columbus Jan 29 OOUG Members & Friends: Please join Oracle for this complimentary event where participants will learn about: - Taking information from isolated silos and effectively sharing it with business users - Oracle's roadmap for Business Intelligence - latest offerings and product direction. - New capabilities & examples of clients who leverage this technology today to deliver key performance indicators to their business/organization.
