The 10-meter net for hams within simplex range of the Barre-Montpelier area
will meet tonight (Sunday, August 16) at 7 PM at 28.45 MHz USB. All local hams
are encouraged to join.
Simple 10-meter dipoles about 16 feet long have been shown to work well, even
at only 15 or 20 feet high. We encourage you to put one up, but if you don't
have one, use an antenna tuner and give it a try with your existing antenna.
The net will range across different topics, including on-air CW practice,
testing of digital modes (which will require temporarily shifting the frequency
below 28.3 MHz), and other technical areas related to ham radio. It is not
intended to be a general purpose discussion net, as there are already other
nets covering that need.
Our focus so far has been on testing 10-meter simplex range and discussion of
technical topics.
Please join us, and spread the word to other hams in central Vermont.
