Considerable interest has been expressed in a net for hams within 10-meter
simplex range of the Barre-Montpelier area. All local hams are encouraged to
join.
We will schedule the net for Sunday nights at 7 PM. This will allow the net to
finish before the CVARC net on the 146.625 repeater begins at 8 PM. Other
suggestions for an alternate weekly schedule are welcome if Sunday is not the
best option for most of those interested.
This will be primarily an SSB net held between 28.3 and 28.5 MHz, so all
classes of license can participate. Let's meet on 28.45 MHz USB.
The net will range across different topics, including on-air CW practice,
testing of digital modes (which will require temporarily shifting the frequency
below 28.3 MHz), preparedness for emergency operation, and other technical
areas related to ham radio. It is not intended to be a general purpose
discussion net, as there are already other nets covering that need.
We will hold the first net on 28.45 MHz on Sunday, August 2 at 7 PM. Please
join us, and spread the word to other hams in central Vermont.
