Issue 13: 04.14.2002 I know what you're all thinking: "oh, my goodness! He has red hair!" Yes, I have permanently dyed red hair by L'Excellence in Boca Raton. I couldn't be happier with the result. Since I have red hair, no one can say I look like Jack Osbourne anymore! Even though I like be an individual, it's still cool that people told me that I looked like Jack; it's a compliment and an annoyance at the same time! I handed in my Mitnick history fair project and did my oral presentation. Everyone seemed to understand my presentation until I explained SYN/ACK Packet prediction, which by that time, I had them confused out of their minds with all of my computer lingo, but if someone started talking about something I wasn't so interested in, then I would be confused, too. (Was that a long sentence or what?) I think (note the word "think") I got 100 percent on everything. Maybe I'll get an "A" this quarter in History and Language Arts or whatever classes the History Fair grades go towards (Ladies and gentlemen, this is why block scheduling sucks--LA and History become one and so do Math and Science). In other news, I have my Geometry credit by exam in a five weeks, and since I remember very little of it, and it's a very hard test, I'll be getting a tutor and will have to cram over the next five weeks. How fun. When does it end? And now, for The Crapshoot news: I might be setting up an online store with Cafe Press selling tee shirts, hats, boxers, mugs, etc. Hopefully, I should have that ready to go soon. Let me see, is there anything else...oh, yes, a friend of mine drew a fantastic logo. I'll try to scan it and redo it on the computer ASAP. It's a cartoon of a guy sitting on a toilet with a laptop. It's a cool joke, and I'm going to adopt it as The Crapshoot logo. Until next Sunday, see you later, and enjoy this issue of The Crapshoot. Now here's the amazing part, the site is running off a 8 mhz Mac Plus with 4 mb of RAM, no hard drive, and two 800 kb floppy drives. This is for those zany souls out there who use Macs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CS Audio Meshuggah Meshuggah is a Norwegian heavy metal band that was featured on The Osbournes. Meshuggah is only for people who consider Pantera to be soft rock because Meshuggah is the hardest metal I've ever heard. No wonder Jack used their music to get back at the neighbors! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CS Book Red Dragon-Thomas Harris The masses have heard of Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, but few have heard of, nevertheless read, the book that started it all, Red Dragon. The infamous Dr. Hannibal Lector makes his first appearance in this book by helping Detective Graham locate the Red Dragon, a serial killer and fan of Lector's. This book is only for the strong of heart and for those willing to give their life to Harris because by starting this book, your life will not progress until you finish this exciting thriller. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CS Webcam Astronomy Picture of the Day Every day, a new astronomy picture is posted on this site with an explanation.
