Yesterday we held an urgent protest demonstration in solidarity with the
striking teachers of Mexico and against the repression the government has
unleashed against them. More than 60 workers and students came to the protest,
including a contingent of approximately 15 B&H Photo workers.
A central theme was that the horrific Ayotzinapa massacre could have a bloody
echo in the repression against our sisters and brothers who for more than a
month have been waging a heroic strike against the anti-teacher "education
reform" that is "made in USA."
The urgent need for international solidarity could not be clearer.
Today Oaxaca state authorities confirmed 3 dead, 45 wounded in the massive
police attack against striking teachers in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca. Direct reports
from comrades on the barricades indicate a higher toll.
