There are a number of cases now going on against Sony by employees. If one can be bothered to wade through filings in court cases, quite a lot can be learned, not only about the subject matter of the complaint, or the terms of reference of the dispute, but how the law works in action. Even in cases where secrecy or classification is an issue, one can learn a lot about what and what is not classified, why it is or is not classified, and can, as the great Mr. Cheney once said, infer some of the unknowns and turn them from unknown unknowns, into known unknowns... Although lies are not supposed to be told in a court of law, all the misses are allowed...misunderstandings, misinterpretains, micalculations, followed by the "in"s of course, inaccuracies, mere typos and misinformation of all kinds, providing it doesn't change the truth into a lie. i.e. subversion, circumvention, undermining are all part of the wordsmiths tools, or, in the case of lawyers, his/her armoury...:-)
Now there's a thought...:-)
ATB
Sooty,
P.S. Of course, it is much easier to get the whole and complete truth in the media. They employ linguists to make sure that the language in the media can be read easily by a 3 year old...Keeping it simple sells the medium.
