That does look awesome.

I’ve often wondered why more effort wasn’t put into the backgrounds for 
fighting games. It’s not always about the level of detail, it’s about the 
general idea of the stage and the feel of it. Tekken has boring ass stages. 
You’re lucky if any Tekken game has more than one nice stage. MK9 has 
incredibly detailed backgrounds, but I only really liked the pit stage. MK2 had 
better backgrounds overall.
Mahvel stages weren’t particularly amazing either.

I get not wanting to distract from the foreground activity, but that’s not an 
excuse for laziness.
