He does seem like he suits your style of play, some nice rushdown pressure
options with those low hops and the stomp mixups.
I think I want to pick up Leona and Alice at some point. I should probably work
on Ralph first though.

I see.
Good explanation, thanks.
I noticed it when I saw a Maxima combo where air EX vapor cannon juggled into
super. I couldn't do it until I watched the vid again and saw "counter" on
first hit.
Vice has an any-state airborn attack.
no matter what you are doing, hard knockdown, recovery... it just gets you.

Sometimes counter hits change the Juggle Points. So on normal hit if you
have a JP of 1, it means that after 1 more hit while the opponent is
airborne, you get nothing. Counter-hits sometimes increase the JP to like 3
or so. In Vanilla SFIV, Ken's EX DP had infinite juggle points, which was
interesting cos it set the opponent on fire. Each time you juggled, the
opponent got darker and darker. As if they were being overcooked.

reason I couldnt really hit anything usefull after the heavy(armored) VC.
I could jab them for an air reset... perhaps the df+C timing was just
tight.

Yea, sadly Maxima only has 1 ex move that allows a followup.
So its usually just
EX vapor cannon, vapor cannon, super
If spacing allows you can sometimes squeeze a df+C in between
Had a look at some cool looking fuzzy guard type shit that im not
sure if it works.
Blocked air C, land, air 1 into air Vapor cannon.
Blockstun seems like it could force the opponent to block jump 1 into
vapor.
Will have to test properly. Seems like it worked when telling the AI
to crouch and guard all.
Not sure what would happen if the opp was crouch blocking after the
1st block of Air C.

The only exception is where you can do a really long quickmax combo
that uses 3 ex moves, then use the lvl2, then climax.

Unless you want to blow all your meter for a kill his Climax seems

In almost every situation I tested just doing lvl1 super into lvl2
super does more damage than his climax for the same amount of meter.
The few small exceptions are when the normal supers wiff.
No idea if this is normal. My other two characters cant really combo
their lvl1 into lvl2 supers nicely to compare damage

So they toned down his midscreen easy confirms and made them harder,
