There's a brazillion and one reasons for packet loss. Not all of them
apply all the time.
Also, just because you kept getting DC it doesn't mean there's packet loss,
or that the problem's on your side. Packet loss can even occur between
hops, and you don't have a lot of control over the routing. It's worth
testing with other cables though, just to eliminate that possibility.
