Good evening.
Spoke with Officer Goodloe today about recent rise in driveway thefts and house
robberies that have been happening in both our neighborhood and the surrounding
ones. They apprehended a fairly large group of juveniles that were running an
operation just north of Ben White (stolen cars, stripping for parts, stolen
household items and reselling, etc.) and they also arrested a couple of people
on Monday that were breaking into cars in driveways thanks to one of our
neighbors vigilance.
I do not know the specifics of what cars and/or houses these arrests may apply
to, but he mentioned that they are currently sorting through evidence and
stolen items. Hoping that these arrests will put a dent in the recent rise in
activity.
He asked that I please remind neighbors to please lock doors, car doors and to
clear vehicles of any valuables. Please continue to report any additional
thefts (minor and major) to the police.

vehicles in driveways in the last week or two. From what I can gather on
Nextdoor, these are happening in the area beyond Castlewood and Tanglewood,
too. I have reached out to Officer Goodloe to check-in and see if there is
any additional info available.
In the meantime, please be vigilant about clearing your cars of anything that
even appears valuable and lock car doors regardless of time of day. Also be
sure to report any thefts no matter how minor. APD uses these reporta to
determine patrol area priorities.
Will follow up if/when I hear more.
