We’re seeing an outbreak of social upheavals closely resembling
Haiti’s worldwide: Iraq, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Egypt, Honduras… It
looks like Petrocaribe in particular is not a necessary factor, that
deeper issues associated with the neoliberal system are at the core.
We need the international context in order to evaluate the Haitian
crisis.
