Les membres de l’alternative consensuelle pour la refondation
d’Haïti ont présenté, ce jeudi 10 octobre, les 9 personnalités qui
font partie de la commission de facilitation de la passation du pouvoir.
Clair Ludy Parent, l’ancienne mairesse de Pétion-Ville,
l’ex-colonel Himmler Rebu, le professeur Augustin Antoine,
l’écrivain Gary Victor, la militante Antoinette Duclair,
l’ex-député Hugues Célestin, l’ancien bâtonnier, Me Gervais
Charles, Michel Legros et le révérend Père Michel Frantz Grandois,
sont les 9 membres de cette structure.
Ils vont travailler en vue de présenter une liste de 3 juges de la Cour
de cassation d’où sera choisi celui qui remplacera le président de
la République, Jovenel Moïse.
Selon le sénateur Ricard Pierre, le Premier ministre provisoire sera
issu de l’opposition élargie.
Le mandat des membres de la commission de facilitation pour la passation
de pouvoir prendra fin après l’installation du président provisoire.
I am glad it has a couple of women on the panel -plus non political
people as well as someone representing the church.
It's a good across the board group. Let's hope they can start working
on putting Haiti back to being a peaceful country.
The cost of basic foods has already gone up by 22% which will affect the
poor particularly. And the economic outcome
for the year 2019/2020 will be disastrous!!
Today is another planned demonstration - let's hope it is like the one
last Friday, when there was not much violence.
The length people have gone to in their actions whilst demonstrating is
unbelievable - they have even targeted children
going to school by throwing water at them. One of my drivers said that
the kids have to carry their uniforms, so they can
change into them when they get to school. That's even if they are able
to go to school - Most must have missed
about 4 weeks of school already!!
And forget Tourism - hotels are empty, I'm sure the restaurants are the
same way. Apart from a film crew in August,
all of our other tourism clients have cancelled - not good for the
Tourism industry. I am keeping my fingers crossed
that the US doesn't raise its Security level.
