Check the wiki about downloads buffers. I never see them at all unless
I explicitly ask to, so there's a way to set that up -- can't remember
the details, it was so long ago that I configured it.
I'm not sure how to access history size; I'd suggest taking a look at
Mozilla's developer pages (assuming you're comfortable programming in
JavaScript). There's a standard way for adding such a widget to the
Conkeror status line once you've found the information.
