The yellow is for motherboard monitoring of fan spin, the red is +12vdc to the fan motor and the black is ground for both. If your old fan uses all three and this fan has just red and black your motherboard might cry that the fan has stopped. -----Original Message----- From: computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of CRAZYDOVE@xxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2006 12:09 PM To: computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [CTS] PC Fan Ok..I received my new pc fans..one of them is a Panaflo dc brushless Model #FBA09A12M. The problem is..at the "plug" end..there is no plug, just a red wire, a black wire, with exposed wire ends. I have NO idea what to do with it, now in the box along with the other brands/types of fans I ordered, there was a wire with a connector to my pc on one end and a connector on the other end that sort of looks like the one coming out of the fan but is not the same. This connector wire is red, black and yellow, the wires coming out of the fan are black, red. Color me puzzled..does anyone have any idea what or how I'm supposed to connect this type of fan to the MB? TIA.......Jackie
