All's well that ends well ! Next time that happens you might try booting to Safe Mode then you can check what you have for drives. A Win 98 boot floppy is also a good tool since once booted you can FDISK the hell out of it. Fdisk tells you what you have for partitions, whether one is active, etc. Change from A:\ to C:\, run Dir /w for a wide view of the files on C:\. Chances are the O/S is still there.
