On behalf of the 'Byzantine Studies Netherlands' society, we are happy to

Dear All,
This year the meeting of the society 'Byzantine Studies Netherlands' will
take place on the 24th March 2017 in the Wereldmuseum / World Museum,
address Willemskade 25, Rotterdam. After our yearly meeting there is a
scientific programme consisting of:
-Three lectures in English about food and eating habits in Byzantium (see
attached programme)
-A visit to the exhibition "I cook, therefore I am" at the museum (
https://www.wereldmuseum.nl/en/tentoonstellingen/ik-kook-dus-ik-ben.html)
-A Taste Lab (including Byzantine food and drinks) & Poster presentations
of RMA students of the University Leiden on the subject: ‘*The Archaeology
of a Byzantine City*’. For the Byzantine ‘wining & dining’ in the Taste Lab
we ask a small contribution of 5,00 Euro.
