The hoax that I found that was pretty bazaar was on http://www.nonprofit.net/hoax/default.htm . The hoax was in form of a chain letter that told the story of little Jessica Mydek who was dying of a rare form of cancer. With only six months to live she asked that people help her live out her last wish in completing a global chain letter. Furthermore, the letter promised that the American Cancer Society would donate 3 cents for each forwarded copy. The good hearted people who wanted to help by forwarding the letter of course ended up with a computer virus. Turns out that the story of Jessica Mydek was never confirmed, and the site they told everyone to address their questions to, ACS@xxxxxxx was not a real address. I just wonder why people start these letters and how they benefit from them.
