JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer is responsible for analysis,
development, integration, documentation,
implementation and support of Industrial information
technology solutions focused on Shop floor and
Manufacturing Systems.  Using system life cycle
development methodology at a CMM level 2 the engineer
will develop, modify or extend the traceability,
Quality, Process control systems for Inergy on global
bases.  The System Engineer will ensure that system
development; installation and maintenance processes
translate design and operating requirements into
reliable information systems to support manufacturing.
 

As a key member of an integrated cross disciplinary
and cross cultural team, the engineer will serve many
functions, however their primary responsibility is to
ensure the quality, reliability and integrity of the
operational code base.  They are the focal point for
discussions about how the design is implemented to
ensure design goals are met and the application
remains supportable.  

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·        Active and professional perspective on design
issues

·        The development of software interfaces
between ERP and MES systems

·        The adaptation of the system to changing
business processes and needs

·        The extension of existing MES application to
provide value added functionality

·        Maintenance of documentation, systems and
databases

·        Third level support for deployed systems

·        Assistance with deployments and upgrades

·        Demonstrate solid core technical expertise in
the design, development, testing, deployment, and
support of the industrial information systems to meet
requirements of the business.

·        Provide reference level knowledge of the
tools, methods and practices for both Inergy systems
and the manufacturing industry 

·        Assist with application design sessions with
user community to aid in system design

·        Design, develop and implement business
applications, data mining applications and other
projects as requested

·        Formulate and propose cost effective solution
to Inergy Automotive business problems 

·        Contribute to corrective actions/problem
resolution and quality control functions

·        Manage and prioritize activities to ensure
project technical goals are achieved and exceeded

·        Maintain regular schedule of oral/written
correspondence with team members and customer

·        Actively participate in continuous
improvement and corrective action activities.

·        Oversee or provide assurance of data
integrity, validation and regression testing

·        Create and maintain documentation in
accordance to industry standards and system life cycle
management process requirements

·        Resolve all performance problems, technical
support issues and system troubleshooting

·        Must successfully complete all Inergy
required training

·        Must comply with all work rules, policies and
procedures

·        Must comply with all safety rules and
regulations

·        Provide support to other positions as needed

·        Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·        Demonstrate leadership skills 

·        Strong knowledge of Microsoft VB.Net, 
ASP.Net, MS Extended portfolio of tools and
applications include a strong understanding of  MS SQL

·        Strong knowledge of database administration,
software design, testing and implementation

·        Knowledge of Wonderware, Historian products,
other industrial software, ERP systems, and MES
systems

·        Cross cultural, communication and
organizational management skills

·        Professional verbal and written communication
skills (English required additional language skills
preferred).

·        Must be able to manage time and determine
priorities.

·        Ability to maintain working relationship with
internal and external customers and suppliers

·        Proven ability in a team environment and
commitment to user service

·        Ability to maintain composure under pressure
and complete simultaneous tasks effectively to meet
user and management imposed deadlines 

·        Demonstrate solid core technical expertise in
the design, development, testing, deployment, and
support of the manufacturing based systems to meet
requirements of the business.

·        Ability to create and maintain documentation
in accordance to industry standards and system life
cycle management process requirements

·        Ability to identify and correct performance
problems, technical support issues and system
troubleshooting.

·        Knowledge of Wonderware applications (Intouch
and/or Intrack)

·        Knowledge of OPC and shop floor communication
protocols

·        General understanding of ERP, MES, hardware
infrastructure, quality, and manufacturing process
required.

·        Provide support to other positions as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.      BS Degree Computer Science, Information
Systems or Engineering 

Note:  An equivalent combination of training and
experience indicating possession of the         
succeeding knowledge, skills and abilities may
substitute for a degree.

2.      Microsoft VB.NET, ASP.NET and high level
language programming experience (2+ years)

3.      Working experience with database concepts,
administration and SQL programming (2+ Years)

4.      Software development experience in
manufacturing applications (1+years)

5.      Experience with networking and communications
is desired (1+ Years)

6.      Experience in a manufacturing environment,
plastics or automotive preferred 

Experience interfacing devices such as bar-code
readers, weigh scales, label printers, programmable
logic controllers, HMI?s, instruments, etc. and
hardware installation and troubleshooting preferred
