THE GREAT FIRE ENGINE RALLY & FIREFIGHTERS RUN - 2004.
The 21st Annual Great Fire Engine Rally & Firefighters Run will be held
Sunday, September 12, 2004. Downtown (Market & Tucker Streets). The
Firefighters Run begins at 7:30a.m. The Parade begins at 10:00a.m.
Over 100 pieces of fire apparatus both new and vintage will be on display
for children of all ages. A "kids town" featuring water games, educational
characters and fire safety demonstrations is just part of the festivities.
Fire buffs from everywhere will gather to shop the flea-market, participate
in firefighter competitions and witness vintage apparatus in operation.
Enjoy food, live music and the company of fire buffs/Firefighters from
around the area.
The Firefighters Run will be incorporated into this year's event. One
thousand Firefighters will join the fun and run to benefit the St. Louis
Fire Department smoke detector fund and the St. Louis Track Club.
This year's parade will travel East on Market Street from AG Edwards at
Jefferson & Market, then north on Tucker to Olive, west on Olive to 13th
Street and south on 13th Street to the display. Competition area and kid's
town will be in Poelker Park on Chestnut between 15th & Tucker.
