Separate Chopper Crashes Kill Five Sunday, June 27, 2004 CUSHING, Okla. — A helicopter offering sightseeing rides clipped power lines and crashed into a river, killing two of the five people aboard. Hours after the Saturday night crash in Oklahoma's Cimarron River (search), three people were killed Sunday morning in a helicopter crash south of Atlanta. The Bell 206B (search) helicopter crashed into water about five feet deep after hitting three power lines, said Aaron Sauer, an investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board (search). It had taken off from an Elks Lodge about five miles away in Cushing, about 55 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, Sauer said. "We were told that he (the pilot) was giving rides at a birthday party of some kind," said Federal Aviation Administration (search) spokesman John Clabes. Killed were pilot Darrell C. Jameson, of Oklahoma City, and Nicholas Knigge, of Cushing, Okla., said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Brandon Kopepasah. The survivors — who were listed in stable to good condition Sunday — were Ben B. Han, 47, of Oklahoma City; John M. Cooper, 46, and Don B. Piccolo, 43, both of Glencoe, Okla. Sean A.
