Fyi The Wings program did not sunset at the end of September. You can get at least one more phase. _____ From: Phil Jossi [mailto:pjossi@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, November 28, 2006 3:46 PM To: 'Blake, Gordon'; 'Braesch, Gary'; 'Derryl Blood'; 'Greenfield, Samuel'; 'Heida, John'; 'Hillyer, Robert'; 'Hove, Andrew C.'; 'Hudson, Terry'; 'Jossi, Philip'; 'Kistner, Robert'; 'Meier, Fred'; 'Menin, Ira'; 'Moore, Albin'; 'Pederson, Michael'; 'Pflug, Thomas'; 'Pflug, Thomas'; 'Rohren, Lathan'; 'Shires, Ward'; 'Stilley, Don'; 'Todd, Robert'; 'Wachholtz, Otto'; 'Burton, Bill'; 'Butt, Joe'; 'Carpenter, Roger'; 'Charbonneau, Paul'; 'Davis, Stephen'; 'Dorwart, Tom'; 'Eisenhauer, Mike'; 'Frank, Ken'; 'Franzen, Darwin'; 'Gasper, Rick'; 'Gibbons, Ronald'; 'Groth, Lyndon'; 'Harbour, Keith'; 'Hickson, Justin'; 'Hollins, Dan'; 'Jensen, Darrell'; 'Krings, Jeff'; 'Kuskie, Charles'; 'Larkin, Leo'; 'Lewis, Chuck'; 'Linder, Jason'; 'Lubken, Al'; 'Maughan, Ken'; 'McClellan, Michael'; 'Morrison, Darien'; 'Pineda, John'; 'Platt, Vern'; 'Reeves, Shawn'; 'Rooney, John'; 'Rudebusch, Rod'; 'Saathoff, Kevin'; 'Shetler, Eldon'; 'Shonley, Douglas'; 'Solomos, James'; 'Taylor, Barry'; 'Troidl, Jim'; 'Wess, Roger'; 'Willert, Carl'; 'Zikmund, Shane' Subject: FAA Wings Program Nebraska Wing Pilots, I attended a FAASTeam training session in Omaha a few days back and was given some new information on the existing FAA Wings Program. Earlier this summer, the FAA was indicating that the current Wings Program (the one we have known and loved) would be going out of existence at the end of their fiscal year September 2006 in favor of a new program that was under development. As of two week ago, the new program is still under development and will not be fully released for some time yet. In consideration of the delay, the current Wings Program has been extended through calendar year 2007. Continue to attend safety seminars, get the training cards, get the 3 hours of dual, and complete your next phase. As discussed at our FAASTeam meeting, the accident/incident ratio of pilots in the program is "significantly" lower than those who do not attend seminars and avail themselves of ongoing training. Seems like a pretty good trade off too me. Just thought I would update you on this since the previous guidance has been superceded. Fly Safe fly Often!
