Daniel,

How did you “toggle,” it last time? You can either shut off the voice 
completely, or just make sure the ATC window remains closed. The latter might 
be more beneficial for this kind of frequent switching, if only because you 
don’t need to go into the sound dialog and reenable it.

The grave accent key, “`”, is an ATC window toggle. If the window is closed, 
commands for add-ons will go through like you’d expect.
