Well at times Michelle will state a message on the lines, it’s a good idel to start the approach checklist now. Also, When the ATC tells me the runway assignment is when I normally do the approach checklist. I use the recognize approach clearance command then start a couple of the approach checklist items. Then use the contact tower command and usually I get switch over with no problems. Then just before land I should hear from the tower clear to land in this case runway 4l and I reply by saying recognize landing clearance. Could it be because this was a VFR landing Robert?
